1,400 Tiny Gems, Endless Driftings
A sparkly sticker pack from CVS brought back old memories, artist inspiration, and new creative ideas—all from 1,400 tiny gems.
I love sparkly things! Who wouldn’t love sparkles?
When I’m walking around the city, I often find myself stopping whenever I see something shimmering. If there’s something sparkling in a store window, I have to check out what’s catching the light. If a museum or gallery is hosting a jewelry exhibition, I’ll definitely go. And if I’m in a thrift store and spot a bunch of jewelry—whether it’s real or not—I can’t help but browse through it.
That said, I don’t actually buy jewelry all that often. Why? Because the idea of losing it sends me into a panic.
Yesterday, I found something amazing at CVS—an Adhesive Gemstones Pack! It comes with 1,400 tiny gem stickers! I immediately thought of the Kenny Scharf exhibition I went to, where he decorated electronic devices with glittery gemstones, and I just had to get it for myself.
Looking at these stickers also brought back memories of how, back in Japan, high school girls used to decorate their flip phones with sparkly gem stickers just like these.
I already have a fun idea for how I want to use them—so once it’s done, I’ll definitely write about it here!
