My Creative Training Routine #2
Writing this blog has become part of my creative routine. It’s where I express freely, plant seeds of ideas, and show up as an artist.
Following up on yesterday’s blog, today I’m sharing the second part of my creative training routine — this very blog!
I think of writing and posting here every day as my time and space to express myself freely. As an artist, I can’t stop myself from creating — but if I’m going to create, I want to do it on my own terms, with complete freedom.
While I was trying to figure out the best way to share my illustrations, I came across Austin Kleon’s book Steal Like an Artist. That book inspired me to start this blog.
Through this blog, I want to share my work, my creative ideas, my little hacks, and my recommendations with the world. I also want this blog to become my open creative scrapbook — a place where I plant seeds of ideas.
Somewhere down the road, something I wrote here might turn into an illustration, or a passing thought might spark a new idea — you never know where things will lead, and I love that element of surprise.
When I was a kid, sayings like “Perseverance brings strength” or “Stick with something for three years” felt kind of abstract. But now that I’m an adult, I understand those words so much more deeply.
Of course, I don’t want to tie myself down too rigidly with routines — but now that I understand the power of consistency, I want to keep showing up here. I’m going to keep this blog going so I can always be ready to create freely, any time!
