Creative Encounters in Skokie
Stumbled upon Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park today—public art truly is one of Chicago’s greatest everyday luxuries!

My husband and I had some errands to run today, so we went out to Skokie. On the way there, we happened to notice a stretch of road lined with several interesting sculptures—and we thought, What is this place?! After finishing our errands, we made a detour to check it out.
It turned out to be the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park, which runs along McCormick Boulevard. We didn’t have enough time to see everything, but we managed to walk through part of the park, and we were fascinated by the variety of sculptures on display.

Each piece had its own vibe—I could’ve spent hours taking it all in! I’ll definitely have to come back.
Not only that, but Chicago itself is full of public art—sculptures by famous artists are displayed for free downtown and along Lake Shore Drive. How lucky are we to have such amazing pieces accessible in everyday life?
Chicago is a place where art is seamlessly woven into the streetscape, and just being here fills me with creative energy.
